Andre Bell Meditation

Words of a Poet

Meditation
by
Andre Bell

I cried, I laughed
I’ve sighed and died
But like the phoenix
From ashes I rise

I have plotted and schemed
manipulated many things
I saw myself as wise
But often played the fool

I flew with eagles
Just to find myself
Clucking with the chickens
When the day ended

I broke many records set by men
Only to turn around
To observe what I just broke
Being broken again

I wrestled with vanity
And vainglorious imaginations
That never became practical
Because of doubt, inconsistencies, and procrastination

The world smiled with me
Only to frown
When I turned to my own thoughts
And let it down

I ran a race once
Only to stop and think
As I thought
I watched everyone pass me

I sat in a room
With all the lights off
Only so I could hear the thoughts of my heart
So that I might be made to be still
Granting me a lease
On how I made it feel

So that it could disclose to me
Intimately the reflection of me
As it saw me
Reveling how I need to see me
Many revelations through reevaluations
Took dept rooting themselves

Budding through germination
Bring about a new elevation
From what would be anxious
Thoughtless meditations

Candice M. Martin The Box

Words of a Poet

The Box
by
Candice M. Martin

The Box
Written: December 7, 2004

Nothing special-no funeral or even a memorial card
Only tattered clothes and little bone shards.
Tucked quietly away in a wooden box-
Of the "buried" family secret, no one talks.

But in the back yard, beneath the ground-
There is a box that can be found.
No cross or stone to mark the spot-
Never told a soul for fear of getting caught.

Everything was secretly washed away-
With no penance to pay.
All pictures were thrown out as if she didn't exist-
They figured she wouldn't be missed.

Only three years old with golden hair and eyes of blue-
One night against the wall, this child momma threw.
Drunk and mad like everyday-
Momma yelled for her to get out of the way.

But she didn't know where to go-
So Momma knocked her in the nose.
When sissy began to cry so loud-
"I'll give you something to cry about", Momma vowed.

Sitting at the table, I watched as Momma hit her left and right-
Sissy cried so much and the blows she tried to fight!
But she was so little and there was nothing she could do-
So I jumped up and tried to come to her rescue.

But Momma looked at me with such evil in her eyes-
Told me not to even give it a try.
So I sat back down and watched sissy bleed-
Every time she cried out, it was as if Momma would feed.

Momma just kept kicking her and hitting sissy so much-
Onto the top step sissy clutched.
Momma knew sissy was trying to run and hide-
But she wasn't going to swallow her pride.

She picked up sissy and through her against that wall-
Then silence fell and sissy didn't try to crawl.
Lifeless she lay, bloody and bruised-
Next, I was used.

Momma said that I wanted to help so much, now I could-
"Go out back and get some wood!"
When I came back, it was a box we built-
Momma thought this would wash away her guilt.

Into the box, sissy I had to lay and bury her outside-
Momma said her body we had to hide.
She threw away all pictures to make it go away-
But in my mind it will always stay.

I could never tell a single soul, Momma had said-
Or I too would wind up dead.
No one ever asked where sissy went-
Only Momma and I knew of the box and its contents.

The box, holding sissy for all these years-
And Momma filling me with so many fears.
It's my turn to bury a box once again-
But this time, Momma's inside and now she'll pay for her sin.

Cynthia Miller Can you feel me?

Words of a Poet

Can You Feel Me?
by
Cynthia Miller

If my eyes are the window to my soul, then it serves s a mirror for you.  Move closer .Ahh, right there. Can you see yourself? Because you reside in the deepest part of my being. When I breathe, I inhale your dreams. They have become my goals……Can u see them?
window to my soul 225x300 Can You Feel Me?If you can really read my thoughts then it should serve as a tape recording of your voice. Because you stay on my mind and your character sounds off like a song I can’t wait to play. Can you hear my thoughts? Then sing along with me tonight. For, I am playing your song…….
If my heart has a door, are u standing there knocking? There is no need for you to knock. You see I have already let you in. I am just standing here waiting for you to step in and close the door to my heart.  Be gentle when you enter my heart. For I have not allowed anyone in this room for a very long time……
If my body is my temple then I invite you to come in for services.  Our love making will become sacred to me and I will honor your presence like the king that you are. I want to feel you in the morning. I want to taste you in the afternoon and scream your name in the middle of the night.
I know you can see my intentions because they are buried in my soul where you reside.
I know you hear me calling for you. Because you are running around’ inside my thoughts.
I know you entered into my heart last night because I felt you as you eased the door shut ever so gently.
I know my body has been put on layaway for you because my dream was waiting when I closed my eyes…
Can you feel me?
Encouraging Words from Cynthia

Tamari Campbell A Precious Gift

Words of a Poet

A Precious Gift
A Mother's Love for her Daughter!
by
Tamari Campbell

I remember the first time I held you in my hands
I thought I would drop you
You were so small and fragile I thought I would break you
All these thought in my mind going around and around
How could I ever care for you or love you?
How would I ever be the mother I want you to look up too?
So many have problems each day trying over and over again
But I was chosen to have you my beautiful little one
I learned many things while I held you close to me heart each night
How you would breathe to the sound of my heart beat
It was so amazing seeing I was child myself when I had you.
Being fourteen years old not knowing where to even begin.
I raise you the best I could, through all my trails and errors
And so much pain I put you through.
I hurt you so many times not knowing how to handle things the right way
I regret many things in my life
But I can say without a doubt I never regret having you
My beautiful daughter of mine!
Now you are all grown up with a family of your own,
About to take another big step in your life and getting married,
I am very proud of you and how you have become such an amazing mother,
How you learned from my mistake not to repeat them and be stronger,
I love you Yamilette my dear daughter
You have grown,
You have learned
You have cried
You have struggled
But always remember you will always have your mother.
I love you deeply my dear daughter.

Words of a Poet

My Inner Beast
by
Kiexiza Rodriguez

She roars
she purrs
she yearns to be stroked
She can love
she can hate
she can be worst than you worst date

Uplifting those around her
all while her heart breaks
feeding your soul
while she cries alone
wishing nothing but the best for you
while you complain you have no time
no money
no thought to support.

My inner soul
moves on
looks high
some how sees past
all the negativity you do
you put her through

About Dope Boy

Cameron Forrest had the mind of a mathematician, the heart of a lion and the soul of a hustler. If he had been raised across town in one of Atlanta’s affluent areas, he would probably have been a doctor or lawyer…maybe even president.
Instead, he grew up in one of Atlanta’s most depressed ghettos. Cam was a natural born leader, so it was no surprise that he rose to the top of the drug trade. He ran the notorious B.C.B.’s with an iron fist. As a result he was a millionaire by age 21.
Join young Cam as he robs, steals and kills on his rise to the top. He grinds his way up the ladder…killing anyone who gets in his way.

Trap House

http://www.amazon.com/Trap-House-ebook/dp/B005LPVF1M/ref=sr_1_3?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1327111032&sr=1-3
About Trap House

Trap House is an unflinching account of the goings on of an Atlanta drug den and the lives of those who frequent it. Its cast of characters include the Notorious P.I.G., the proprietor of the house, who uses his power to satisfy his licentious fetishes. Of his customers, there's Wanda, an exotic dancer who loathes P.I.G., but only tolerates him because he has the best dope in town. Wanda's boyfriend Mike is the owner of an upscale strip club, as well as a full time pimp.

Tiffany and Marcus are the teenage couple who began frequenting the Trap House after snorting a few lines at a party. Can their love for each other withstand the demands of their fledging addiction, or will it tear them apart?
P.I.G.'s wife Blast, doorman Earl and a host of other colorful characters round out the inhabitants of the Trap House.

Trap House is the bastard child of real life and the author's vivid imagination. Its author, Sa'id Salaam, paints a graphic portrait of the inner-workings of an under-world. He takes you so close you can almost hear the sizzle of the cocaine as it's smoked—almost smell the putrid aroma of crack as it's exhaled. Yet for all the grit and grime, Trap House has the audacity to be a love story. Through the sordid sex and brutality is an underlying tale of redemption and self empowerment. Trap House drives home the reality that everyone is a slave to something.

Who's your master?

Encouraging words from Sa'id
