The beginning of a new life

Hello Fast Life family,

I am so busy working on the second book of the Fast Life Chronicles series and I want to give you a little taste of what you should expect.  For the next few days I will be giving you the first chapter of my new book The UnMarritable. Please be looking for it. It will be released in March. Thank you for all your support and please feel free to post your comments and share your views. Thank you for your participation and constant support. Please enjoy the first chapter of The UnMarritable.

The UnMarritable: The beginning of a new life

It's every girls dream to be married at least once in her lifetime. To live the Cinderella fantasy. I always thought that I would be the first one married, before my brothers and sisters and most of my cousins but unfortunately life had something else in store for me.

Friday night and I'm getting dressed, getting ready to go to the hottest party in town. It's a black and white ball and I have been invited. This is the ball where the who's who will be attending. Part of me wants to stay home and have a girls night out, but I have to go to this ball and pretend that I am into it because this is the time for me to promote myself and my upcoming projects. The worst part of it all is that I have to attend this event alone. Hopefully I will meet someone while I'm there and if I don't, lord please don't make this event longer than I can handle.

I turn on the radio to see what's playing and find a station that is playing the quiet storm. Continuing to go through all the stations to see if there is anything else that can compete with the quiet storm. I don't find anything else on and I go back to the previous station. When I get back to the station I can here the sound of Luther and now I am ready to go take a nice hot bubble bath. As I'm soaking I can vaguely hear the phone ringing. I think to myself, I can get out the tub and see who it is, or I can lay here and enjoy the calming sound of the music playing in the background while the hot water gently hits up against my skin. At this moment I just want to relax and enjoy my serenity and who ever it is can leave a message.

After relaxing in the tub for an hour I get out and dry off. While drying off I hear the doorbell ring. I know that I am not expecting to have any company until tomorrow. All of a sudden someone is starting to ring my doorbell off the hook and it is driving me crazy. I slip on my robe and run down the stairs to see who it is. I look out and see that it is Calvin.  I open the door and ask Calvin “What are you doing here? I wasn't expecting you until tomorrow.” “I come to take you to the ball, I'm your knight and shining armor,” he reply. I laugh and say “when my knight and shining armor come around, I will know it and he will not look like you.” Calvin don't like my response and I don't care if he does or not. I am determined not to mess my night up with this nonsense. “Calvin, you have to go. I can't go to the ball with you. I am going by myself and you can leave now.” I say. “Woman don't play with me I'm taking you to this ball and that's that,” he reply. I realize that it doesn't matter what I am saying, he is not going to go anywhere.

Not in the mood to argue, I let him in and go upstairs and finish getting dressed. While I am getting dressed Calvin is downstairs fixing us some drinks. I walk downstairs and I notice Calvin staring at the pictures on the mantle. “Why haven't you been married?” He ask. I don't want to get into this right now, but I know that he is not going to let this go. Instead of getting into a long drawn out discussion I give him my generic answer. “ Maybe marriage just isn't for me,” I reply. He looks at me with this crazy look and shakes his head and let's it go. The doorbell rings as we are finishing our drinks. It's the limo driver coming to take us to the ball.

Arriving at the ball is more than I ever imagined it to be. This is absolutely beautiful, but I really wish that I was by myself or at least with someone other than Calvin. Calvin is a nice guy but he can be annoying as hell and he has this way of getting on my last nerves. When we get in the ball I really hope that he goes his way and I will go mine. I don't want anyone thinking that we are a couple. I know that Calvin likes me but he has never got up enough guts to really come at me, because he knows that we will only remain as friends. Every now and then he will try to act like he's my boyfriend but only when it's convenient for him. When he feels like someone is trying to get at me that's when he wants to act like we are together but when he sees someone that he wants to holler at then we are business partners. Still no matter what, at the end of the day we will only be friends.

You have my interest

I run upstairs and finish getting dressed as I listen to the radio and dance around the room. I walk downstairs like I am the Queen of England and strut my stuff. Tyrone is looking at me like he can just eat me up and I am glad to see the look on his face. It has been a really long time since I had a man look at me like this. Normally when men look at me I feel like I am being raped. It's almost like they are looking through my clothes.

I see what he has prepared for us and notice that it is some hors d'oeuvres. Either this man really enjoys cooking or he is just giving this his all. We finish the hors d'oeuvres and the drinks that he has prepared for us before we go out on our official first date.

We are leaving the house and I see Calvin coming down the street. I act like I don't even see him and we continue to go our way. I am not going to ruin whatever this could be with Tyrone for Calvin. He is definitely not worth it.

Tyrone has made reservations at the La Chance Restaurant which is really impressive especially since this is a five star restaurant. Good thing that I am dressed to kill but I know that if I wasn't he would've told me to go change clothes.

This man really has class and I am loving this about him. We have great conversation for hours. We laugh and talk the night away and just enjoy each others company. He is really showing his interest in getting to know who I am as a person.

While having dinner, I find out more about him and he finds out more about me. This night is going better than I thought it would. I didn't think that I would be feeling this way after just meeting this man last night. There is something about him that is really catching my attention. Hopefully this is something that will turn into long term and not just some silly phase. I will not open my heart to this man just yet. He will have to earn that but I am going to let things flow and keep my options open and ready to fall in love. That true kind of love that every woman yearns for.

We finish our dinner date and decide to head back home to have a night cap and continue our conversation. I enjoy talking to this man. He has so much to say and I am interested in hearing it all.

Is he a stalker?

I clean up my house take a nice long hot bath and then call him. He answers the phone and he sounds like something is terribly wrong. “Hey baby, are you okay? I have been trying to call you to make sure that you made it home safely. I was worried about you,” he say. I am glad to know that he was worried about me, in fact I am really flattered. Could this really be the one for me? I say to myself as he is talking to me. We agree to meet for dinner tonight because he says that he needs to see me. We finish our conversation and I continue on my day.

Not sure of what to wear after looking in my closet for over an hour; I decide to call Kinni, Leigha and Destiny and have a girls day out. We go to the mall to do a little shopping to see if I can find something cute to wear. When we leave the mall we decide to go to lunch and have a couple of drinks. When we have drinks, sometimes we seem to get a little crazy but its all in good fun.

After having lunch we decide to go to the spa and have some relaxation to end our day. After having our massages, waxes and facials we end our day and say our good byes. I go home and prepare myself for Tyrone.

This man has some mystery about him and I want to be prepared for whatever he has planned for us. Something tells me that we are not just going to be having dinner.

I run me some bath water and decide that I better take the edge off just in case I really don't want to give this man any of my sweetness, and if I should happen to, just in case that he can't rock my world at least I will have some kind of relief. I grab my vibrator and head for the bathroom. I turn off the running water and get in the tub and turn on the jets. I can feel the water hitting against my skin. I close my eyes, lay back and enjoy the warmness of the water and the soft melody of Marvin Gaye playing softly in the background. Slowly sinking down in the tub I open my legs and I can feel the vibration from the jets. I'm just about to get deep into it and I vaguely hear the ringing of the doorbell. I open my eyes for a second because I must be tripping, but then I hear it again. I could go open it but I'm right where I need to be. I figure if it is important they will either stay until I finish or they will leave, but at this moment all I can think about doing is finishing what I started. I continue to listen to Marvin Gaye and feel the water and the vibration up against my skin. I continue to play with my candy until I'm ready to explode. I can hear the soft sound of the music and the deeper I am getting into it, I can see all the things that I want Tyrone to do to my body. The more I see it, the wetter I am becoming. I am almost ready to explode. I can hear the softness of his voice whispering in my ear, telling me to give it to him, to give it all to him. At this moment all I want to do is give it all to him and I lay back and give him all of my sweet candy. I start to explode. I finish taking myself to ecstasy and I lay back in the tub to see if whoever was ringing my doorbell is still there or if they have left.

Five minutes later I hear the doorbell ring again. Getting pissed off I jump out the tub, dry off and throw on my robe and run down the stairs to see who is ringing my doorbell. Opening the door, with an attitude, I see Tyrone standing there looking oh so good. “You're early babe,” I say in shock. “I know that I am but I couldn't wait to see you. I had to see that pretty smile and those sparkling eyes.” “Okay, okay you don't have to continue, I get the point.” In the back of my mind I think that this is going to be a problem because now I'm really scared that this man is a stalker for sure. I think that this is weird as hell, but I try to give him the benefit of the doubt and just say that this man is really nice.

“Make yourself comfortable, I have to finish getting dressed,” I say to him.

I go back upstairs and call Kinni to tell her what is going on. She starts to laugh and tells me to make sure that I get his license tag number and his legal first and last name. While she is trying to make jokes I have this strange man downstairs walking around in my house. I tell Kinni that I don't have time for jokes to go get her pen and paper because I am about to go out on my balcony, off of my bedroom, and give her this information. Just in case I come up missing or she hasn't heard from me by morning.

Kinni starts to laugh and tells me to go get the information. I go out on the balcony and walk around looking in every window hoping that he doesn't see or hear me. I get the information and give it to Kinni and go back in the house to finish getting dressed. I am getting dressed and I can smell something cooking. Before I put on my dress I throw my robe back on and go downstairs to see what is cooking.

Tyrone has informed me that as long as it is taking me to get dressed he has decided to fix me a snack before dinner. I am honored that he is thinking about me like this. I am hungry. I realize that he is stepping up his game. He leans over and kisses me like he is never going to see me again and he tells me that he will be right here waiting on his queen to finish getting dressed. I feel all giddy inside but it feels good to have a brother think of me as his queen.

Could this be the one?

Tyrone's arms are cuddly and comforting. Laying in Tyrone's arms makes me feel safe and secure. I feel like he will protect me from harm. I don't want to get up for anything in the world and if I could just lay here forever, I would. No man has ever made me feel special like this before. It has always been about money to me and sex for them. This go around I want to try something different and see if I can really find that true love. Someone that will love me for me and it will not be about money or sex. I know that when we make that commitment to one another we will be great friends and great together. We will be an unstoppable team.

When we went to sleep we were on the couch and now I wake up in the bed and I can smell something cooking. “What is that smelling so good?” I ask myself. I sit on the side of the bed and try to wake up. I go to the bathroom to wash up a little bit and the aroma from the food that he is cooking is smelling good and has my stomach growling. I walk downstairs and I see him cooking and singing, like he has just won the lottery or something good has happened to him that he never hears me come into the kitchen. I stand there for a while and watch him dance, cook and sing to himself. He spins around and notice me standing there. Startled, he slightly tips over because he didn't know that I was up. Grabbing a hold to the counter, trying to regain his balance, we start to laugh. I am glad that this man at least has a sense of humor. I need someone in my life that I can laugh and joke with. Someone that will get my jokes and I will get his. Someone that is not afraid to laugh at his self. This is a great change from the brothers that I have been seeing lately with this dry ass sense of humor. Tyrone is a breath of fresh air. If he stays like this I know that he will be the perfect man for me.

He finishes cooking and prepares our plates. We sit and have dinner and watch the game together. This is not something that he is use to. The women that had come in and out of his life was not into sports and they did everything in their power to keep him from his sports. The one thing that I know is that no matter what you do, you can't keep a man away from his sports. If he is going to watch it or play it, that is what he is going to do and there is nothing that is going to stop him. You either join him and get with the program or you can argue fuss and fight. Which is really just a waste of time, effort and energy. I believe that if you really love someone, you support them at whatever they do, no matter if you like it or not. You never know, the thing that you think you don't like, can be the thing that you enjoy doing most. I chose to join them a long time ago. Now I almost beat them to the television.

I am glad that Tyrone and I actually have a lot in common. I never have a problem with getting a man I always have a problem with keeping a man and getting rid of a man. This man however, for some reason, I feel like he is different than all the rest.

After eating and watching a good game of football I know that I need to go home and take care of some things at my own house. I don't want to leave him but I know that I have to because if I don't I will never get anything done. I gather my things and we say our goodbyes. He kisses me on the forehead and tells me what a wonderful time he has had and he wants to see me really soon. I turn to look at him and smile, and tell him that I will call him. He give me the strangest look, like he had just been treated like a hoe,but it didn't bother me because men have been treating women like hoes and bitches for years, now he feels how we have been feeling for years.

I laugh all the way home because I can just imagine what he is thinking. I arrive at the house and I can tell that someone has been here, but I figure that it is just Calvin coming by trying to figure out where in the world I had run off too last night. I was having such a good time with Tyrone that I wasn't even thinking about Calvin or what he was doing. Having such a great time with Tyrone, I forgot that Calvin was suppose to be stopping by for us to finish up some loose ends on the business that we have at hand. I will call him later on to reschedule our meeting.

I don't return Tyrone's call right away. I have to make up in my mind that this thing with Tyrone will not be about money. Although I know that it will be hard for me to separate the two. Most of my life I have been all about my money and I know how that has worked out for me. Now I am going to try something different and hopefully I won't regret it. I am going to take things slow with Tyrone and see how things turn out. Besides I have to let him sweat at least for a little while.

Goin to the Ball

I tell Calvin that I am going my own way and we will meet up in an hour if nothing is jumping off. Calvin doesn't like the idea that I don't want to be around him but he really doesn't have a choice. I start walking around and I notice a few fine brothers, that seem to be alone, sitting at a table holding a conversation. I decide to walk to the bar and see if anyone will get up enough nerves to approach me. I walk up to the bar and order a goose and cranberry. The bartender fixes my drink and tells me that it is taken care of. I smile a little bit because now I know that someone has noticed me out of this crowd but I don't know who it can be.

Sitting at the bar sipping on my drink enjoying the music. I look around and notice a few gentlemen sitting across the way from the bar staring at me. I smile and raise my drink to them and they do the same in return. I turn back around to face the bar and out of the corner of my eye, I can see there is this fine, dark, tall and handsome brother sitting next to me. I really don't know where he came from but he is sitting next to ME. “How do you like your drink?” he ask. I turn towards him and reply, “I suppose that you are the one that bought my drink? Thank you for the drink.” “Yes I did, I noticed you when you walked in and I just have to know your name.” “My name is Kenya,” I reply. He tells me that he finds my name to be beautiful. The fine, dark brother ask me if I would like to join him for the remaining of the evening so that we can get to know each other better. I look at him and tell him that it would be my pleasure. He grabs my hand, for me to get down out of my seat. We find us a table and continue to enjoy each others company.

I drill him like I am his drill sergeant. He doesn't mind though, he just answers the questions without any hesitations. I find out that his name is Tyrone; he is thirty three, never been married and has two kids. I am not happy that he has two kids because one thing that I know is that with two kids there is baby mama drama that comes along with it. I try to ignore the fact that he has two kids and concentrate on the positive things, like he is a broker and owns his own home. I am too classy of a woman, and make good money myself to mess with someone that is broke and can't contribute. After enjoying our conversation for a couple of hours we decide to go back to his place for breakfast, a night cap and continue where we left off.

This really can't be true. This guy is entirely too nice, something must be wrong with him I think to myself. I don't want to jump to any conclusions just yet about this one. I will give him a fair chance until he proves to me that he does not deserve it.

We pull up at his house and it is beautiful. I think to myself he has to live with someone else or this is just a hoax. I feel like this can be the one but I have to get to know his man better before I can make that kind of decision. Every time that I feel like a man can be the one, he always never seems to amaze me. He always manage to show his true colors. I will pray that this one may be the one and that things will work out.

Tyrone opens the door and I follow behind him. I know now that this man really makes good money just by how beautiful and immaculate his house is. “This is a gorgeous house,” I tell him. “Thank you my grandfather built this house for my grandmother, and when she died she left me the house. I just updated it and decided to move into it. It didn't make any sense to rent it out or to let it just sit here. Because this house meant so much to my grandparents, I knew that I had to do something and just letting it sit was not an option for me.” I can understand that, and I am not mad at him for doing it that way, especially when the house has been left to him and it is paid for. All he has to do is pay the property taxes on the house.

I realized at this point that this man really has his stuff together. He fix us some drinks and we sit on the couch and talk for hours just getting to know each other. It is five o'clock in the morning, when I realize what time it is. I have been over to this mans house, that I just met, all night. It doesn't surprise me because after the conversation, that we have had, I feel like we have known each other for years. I really enjoy this mans company it is different than being with Calvin or some of the other guys that I have come encountered with.

Walking in the ball dress to impress, I feel like all eyes are on me. I know that I have it going on and no one can tell me differently. I have on a long black dress that is cut low in the back and has the diamonds going across the swoop, it has the swoop neck in the front where it shows just enough cleavage. I am rocking this cold pair of black stiletto pumps with the diamonds on the side and going down the heel. Looking my best and ready to handle business, I am going to walk around and see who I can see or who can see me.

The beginning of a new life
